Not too much because I had to move back down to Irvine, which was not that eventful, a lot of cleaning and packing, and then cleaning and unpacking, so I did not get much time to update too much

I am going to guess, but I think that I will be more home sick this school year than any other year, good friends and family at home can do that too you

The emerging church has been one of the present struggles the church has to deal with and if you do not know much about them, then why not get to the heart of the issue where we, as Christians, should be focusing on and holding on to with dear life, the gospel. Challies lays out what Brian McLaren, one of the leaders of the emerging church, thinks the ‘orthodox’ gospel and the ‘new’ gospel is

Here is another response to McLaren’s book and to what Challies wrote with a quote from Machen, from Martin Downes at Against Heresies

Do you ever think that you always have to be productive to be considered ‘glorifying’ God? If you ever asked if watching that movie was ‘glorifying’ to God, was going for that nap, or just sitting down and listening to music ‘glorifying’ God then I highly recommend a message John Loftness gave at the 2007 Leadership Conference hosted by Sovereign Grace Ministries, Watch your Leisure

If you liked that message then I would encourage you to listen to the other messages from that conference over at Sovereign Grace Ministries store, do not worry, all the mp3 files are free, there are also tons of other resources, but I remember mentioning it before so I will not continue anymore about this

Tullian Tchividjian, of Pure Church blog, has put a great list of books especially young believers, but can very much apply to ‘older’ believers, he sorts them out into topics as well like Church History, Theology, Devotionals, and other general topics

This might make me look like a bigger nerd now, but I found the photo tour of crossway books/Justin Taylor’s office really cool

John Newton, you are the man!

1 Chronicles 29:10-15
Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.
“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.”

All I know is that my prayers suck.
